Dr. Travis Meier, DC

Doctor of Chiropractic

Clinic Director

Dr. Meier studied Science and Kinesiology at SFU which awakened a keen interest in the human body, specifically in biomechanics and neurology. That was when he made the decision to pursue a career in Chiropractic. He attended Palmer West and graduated in 2000. Dr Meier’s focus is on rehabilitation and injury care as well as educating patients to the benefits of preventative and wellness care. With the use of up to date techniques encompassing spinal decompression, laser therapy, spinal rehabilitation equipment, active rehabilitation and digital x-ray, Dr. Meier and the BC Back Clinic keep up to date and on the cutting edge of technology to offer you the patient, the best possible care. Dr. Meier believes better health is a way of life, which is why an active lifestyle, proper nutrition and spinal health through chiropractic care are all tent poles to living life to its maximum potential.

Ajeet (AJ) Bains, BPT, ACSM-PT

Registered Physiotherapist

Director of Rehabilitation

AJ has been a part of the BC Back team since 2011. During his time here, he has taken many patients through the VAX-D spinal decompression program, tailoring treatment plans and ensuring optimum results for each case. He has also focused much of his attention on helping motor vehicle accident victims recover to their pre-accident condition. AJ is an avid soccer player, so understands firsthand what the rehabilitation process entails. AJ has also established his manual physiotherapy practice here, which allows patients to receive more passive care, until they are ready to begin more active forms of rehabilitation. He enjoys working with the various disciplines at BC Back to ensure his patients get everything that they need to recover from their injuries. AJ is also very active in his community and is trusted by many friends and family for his high quality therapy practices.

Jessica Krenus, CPA, CGA

Managing Partner

Jessica is a Chartered Professional Accountant and brings her experience of business management across several industries to the BC Back team. She and her family opened this business with the intention of setting up a higher standard of wellness care in BC. She has been leading the clinic since 2012 and has watched it grow into something she is extremely proud of. “I feel very lucky to have the group here that we do. Our therapists are first class and provide unmatched care to our patients. Our support team is dedicated to working together to ensure every patient has a memorable experience each time they pass our front door. They are a family I’m very blessed to work with”.

Jane Zhou, R.Ac

Registered Acupuncturist

Jane is a very sought-after therapist here at BC Back. She joined the team here in 2012 and has built a very popular practice. Jane is a Registered Acupuncturist and a member of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia, as well as the British Columbia Qualified Acupuncturists and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Association. Jane also uses Acupressure therapy in her practice and works with a wide variety of cases. She has worked with many athletes in her career and was herself a professional shot-put athlete and a shot-put coach. Jane attended the PCU College of Holistic Medicine, and also graduated from the Shanghai Clinic of Physical Education with a degree in Sports Training.

Parveen Purewal, RMT

Registered Massage Therapist

Parveen graduated from WCCMT and is a member of the College of Massage Therapists of BC. She joined the BC Back Clinic in 2017, continued her Health Science degree at Thompson River University and has taken many post graduate education courses. Parveen treats lumbosacral pain, degenerative disc disease, TMJ dysfunction, SI Joint Dysfunction, repetitive strain injuries, rotator cuff injuries and whiplash. While providing patients with hands-on, individualized treatments, she also finds it important to educate patients on home care.

Kinga Papp

Kinesiologist

Kinga obtained her Sport Sciences Diploma from Douglas College and her Kinesiology Degree from Langara College. She is also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. “My role at BC Back Clinic is to assist patients in their rehabilitation through movement. I find this role to be very rewarding as I get to guide patients in their healing and be a part of their journey. I love working here because of the family atmosphere we have with our staff. Everyone here is one of the kindest, most genuine and hard-working people I know, and together we are committed to giving our patients the best possible service.”

Alexander (Sasha) Tryanichev

Physical Therapy Assistant

Sasha is a 4th year Kinesiology major at SFU with a concentration on Active Health and Rehabilitation. He has a special interest in individualized exercise programs that focus on fixing core issues, while building healthy and maintainable habits. Sasha loves working one on one with patients, doing exercise prescription and being a part of a dynamic team. He also enjoys strength training, jogging and volleyball as his personal exercise regimen.

Natalie Yeung

Kinesiologist

As a Kinesiologist, Natalie is highly passionate in helping others optimize their strength, mobility and function following injury through active rehab. She is also an NSCA Certified Personal Trainer and holds a BC SportsAid certificate, as well as the CGES Fitness Theory credential. “My favourite part of my role here is being creative with exercises so that it can be safe and enjoyable for diverse clientele”.

Sylvia Domingo

Kinesiologist

Sylvia studied Health Sciences and Kinesiology at SFU and graduated with her Bachelor of Science. She supports clients in their recovery from injury, surgery or degenerative changes through individualized active rehab treatment plans. “I love empowering clients to play an active role in their recovery through education and motivation. This gives them the confidence to continue their journey to becoming stronger and pain free beyond our sessions”.

Danielle Sydenham

Assistant Clinic Manager

Danielle is a very important piece of the BC Back family and ensures that both patients and therapists have what they need each day. She implements workflows and procedures to ensure that everything runs smoothly in our very busy environment. “I enjoy being able to provide a welcoming environment for new and returning patients, as well as building relationships with them, their families and our entire BC Back team”.

Janelle O’Brien

Janelle has a long history with BC Back as a part of the reception team. Over the years, she has watched patients suffering from injuries get the help and care they need in a beautiful facility and setting. She has now worked with BC Back and co-founded a new brand offered at the Clinic called SKINsavvy. Janelle is a certified laser technician and has also been certified by CUTERA and Hydrafacial. Dealing with skin imperfections from a young age made her passionate about good skincare and wanting to also help others achieve their skin goals. While we do not direct-bill private insurance companies, all of our therapists are registered and your receipts can be submitted to all plans.
